Troops arrest suspected cattle rustler, recover four cows in Benue

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested a suspected cattle rustler and recovered four rustled cows in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
A military source told the Zagazola that the incident occurred at about 6:00 p.m. on March 31 when troops at Forward Operating Base Obagaji acted on credible intelligence regarding cattle rustling activities in Asa community.
The source said the troops swiftly mobilised to the area, where they apprehended one suspect in possession of four suspected rustled cattle.
He added that the suspect and recovered livestock are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
According to him, the operation forms part of ongoing efforts by troops of OPWS to curb armed criminality, cattle rustling, and other violent crimes in Benue State and adjoining areas.
