Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Collaborator in Monguno, Borno

Troops of 242 Reconnaissance Battalion under Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect, identified as Alhaji Gambo, 33, was apprehended at about 11:00 a.m. on Sunday during routine security checks at Charlie 4 entry point into Monguno town.
According to the sources, the suspect was intercepted while attempting to enter the town, following intelligence-driven surveillance operations in the area.
Items recovered from the suspect included two packs of brake shoes, two packs of clutch accessories, a Demba Rover, a wristwatch, a torchlight and personal clothing, among other items.
The sources said the suspect and recovered items are currently in the custody of Sector 3 Military Intelligence Battalion for further investigation and necessary action.
Security officials noted that preliminary interrogation is ongoing to determine possible links between the suspect and terrorist logistics or support networks operating within the region.
They added that the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops’ morale and operational efficiency remain satisfactory.
