Police arrest suspected ‘one-chance’ syndicate in Abuja, recover vehicle, counterfeit dollars

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a “one-chance” robbery syndicate operating in Abuja and recovered a vehicle and fake foreign currency from the suspects.

 

Sources said that the  suspects were intercepted by a patrol team from the Dutse Alhaji Division on Aug. 4 at about 4:45 p.m. along the Gwarinpa–Dei-Dei expressway near the Public Service Institute of Nigeria.

 

The sources said the suspects, Sultan Jafar, 19, of Efab Global Estate, Idu, and Abdul Rasheed Abubakar of 2nd Avenue, Gwarinpa, were apprehended while loitering suspiciously inside a custom-colored Honda vehicle. 

 

According to the sources, a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of $3,500 in counterfeit U.S. currency, an extra number plate marked TFB 830 RC (Bauchi), and a Moniepoint POS machine.

 

The sources added that the  suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation.
