Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Logistics Supplier in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a 20-year-old suspected terrorist logistics supplier and sympathiser in Borno State.
The suspect, identified as Mohammed Alhaji, was arrested at about 9:30 a.m. on August 23, 2026, by troops of Operation HADIN KAI during a check-point operation at Mandaragirau.
A military sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrest followed credible human intelligence on suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and sympathisers operating in the area.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Alhaji allegedly used his cargo motorcycle, with registration number BBU-514VC, to convey logistics to terrorist elements and conduct casualty evacuation for terrorist fighters.
The suspect was reportedly linked to support activities following a recent attack on troops.
He has since been handed over to Army Provost Group for further investigation and necessary action, while the cargo motorcycle remains in the custody of the 162 Amphibious Battalion.
The development highlights the growing focus by troops on disrupting the logistics and support networks sustaining terrorist operations in the North-East.
The military said the general security situation across the theatre remained calm but unpredictable, while troops maintained satisfactory morale and fighting efficiency.
