The suspects were identified as Goni Abba, 30, and Ali Bukar, 30, both indigenes of Areyanari village in Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe.

Items recovered from them included ₦33,150 in cash, one Android phone, and a blue tricycle with registration number TMW-426WB loaded with assorted foodstuffs and household supplies suspected to be intended for insurgents.

Other items recovered were bags of sugar, flour and rice, cartons of beverages, soaps, detergents, spaghetti, macaroni, cooking oil, sweets, matches and other consumables.

Sources said troops further combed the surrounding area after the arrest but made no additional arrests or contact.

The suspects and recovered exhibits are currently in military custody for profiling and further investigation.

The military high command said operations would continue across the theatre to disrupt insurgents’ logistics networks and deny them freedom of action.
