Troops arrest two suspected ISWAP terrorist informants along Nigeria–Niger border in Borno

 Troops have arrested two suspected terrorist informants along the Nigeria–Niger border in Borno State during a routine patrol operation.

 

Security sources said the suspects were intercepted on April 3 at about 031600A by troops of 5 Brigade deployed at Forward Operating Base Walada while attempting to cross from Kainuwa area along the border axis.

 

The suspects were identified as Bafanami Mallam and Bakolo Bako.

 

Items recovered from them included ₦159,500, a Tecno Android phone, a PalmPay debit card, a National Identification Number (NIN) card, a Civilian Joint Task Force identity card, and a Lake Chad Fishermen Association identity card.

 

The suspects are currently in custody for preliminary investigation to determine their level of involvement in suspected terrorist logistics and information support networks.
