Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorists in Katsina, Foil Alleged Cattle Rustling Mission

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected terrorists along the Dutsinma–Kankara–Turare road in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

 

Security sources said the suspects were apprehended at about 1:15 p.m. on June 7 by troops of 17 Brigade during ongoing security operations in the area.

 

According to the sources, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly active in Mara village of Danmusa Local Government Area and were reportedly on their way to Charanchi Local Government Area for suspected cattle rustling activities.

 

The troops recovered two mobile phones and the sum of N28,500 from the suspects at the time of their arrest.

 

The suspects are currently in military custody pending further investigation and possible prosecution.

 

The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to combat terrorism, banditry and cattle rustling activities across Katsina State and other parts of the North-West region.

 

Security agencies have continued to intensify intelligence-driven operations and patrols aimed at disrupting criminal networks and preventing attacks on rural communities.

 

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to improve security across the state.
