Troops Conduct Show of Force, Ensure Peaceful Juma’at Prayers in Jos-Bukuru

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), in collaboration with other security agencies, on Friday conducted a show of force across the Jos-Bukuru metropolis as part of measures to ensure peaceful Juma’at prayers in Plateau State.
Security sources said the operation involved personnel of OPEP, the Nigerian Air Force’s 551 Station, Operation Keystone, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security agencies.
The sources said the joint security team patrolled major flashpoints within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis before deploying personnel to various sectors and sub-sectors across the Joint Operations Area to provide security during Juma’at prayers.
According to the sources, the operation was aimed at reassuring residents, deterring criminal activities and denying criminal elements the freedom to operate.
The sources added that the prayers and the security operation were conducted peacefully without any security breach.
