Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN under Operation PEACE (OPEP), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other security agencies, conducted a show of force within Jos and Bukuru metropolis on Friday to ensure peaceful Juma’at prayers.

Security sources said the operation was carried out at major flashpoints across the metropolis as part of proactive measures to prevent criminal activities and maintain law and order.

According to the sources, the troops also provided adequate security at various mosques and prayer grounds across different sects and sub-sects within the Joint Operations Area (JOA).

The operation, conducted in conjunction with personnel from the 551 Nigerian Air Force Station and other security agencies, was aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action during the Friday prayers.

The sources added that the security deployment and patrols were peaceful and without incident.

They noted that the coordinated operation formed part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to sustain peace and reassure residents of adequate protection of lives and property within Plateau State.
