Troops Foil Terrorist Movement, Recover Motorcycle in Katsina

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempt by terrorists to cross through Ruwan Lafiya in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The troops, deployed for counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations in the state, encountered the terrorists at a crossing point during a routine patrol on Monday, August 10, 2026.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that the troops immediately engaged the terrorists with heavy firepower, forcing them to flee in disarray.
During the encounter, the terrorists abandoned one Boxer motorcycle as they escaped from the advancing troops.
The troops subsequently recovered the motorcycle and continued to dominate the area to prevent the terrorists from regrouping or returning to the location.
