Troops deployed in Mafa thwarted ISWAP attack

The Nigerian troops deployed in Mafa have repelled attack of the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Ajiri Community in Borno State.
The terrorists were said to have stormed the town on the night of July 23, 2023 and attempted an attack on the military formation.
He noted that this resulted to a heavy gun battle with the troops deployed to protect the community, which is 60 kilometres east of Maiduguri, the state capital, forced the insurgents to withdraw and ran toward the axis of Ma’afa village in Mafa LGA.
