Troops of Operation Enduring Peace , under Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued an injured victim following an armed robbery attack along the Ankwil–Kurra Falls Road in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on June 27, when troops of Sector 4 deployed at Gashish responded swiftly to a distress call reporting an ongoing armed robbery along the route.

On arriving at the scene, the troops found the injured victim, while the armed robbers fled into nearby bushes on sighting the approaching security personnel.

The attackers reportedly made away with the victim’s handbag containing an undisclosed sum of money before escaping.

The victim was immediately evacuated by the troops to a medical facility in Kurra Falls, where he received treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.

Military sources said troops have launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects and are conducting search operations in the surrounding area to apprehend those responsible.

The sources added that security patrols have been intensified along the corridor to deter further criminal activities and enhance the safety of residents and road users.
