Troops Foil Bandit Attack, Recover Weapons and Equipment in Taraba

Troops of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke successfully repelled a bandit attack on Chanchanji community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack, which took place around 10:30 a.m. November 13, 2024 was reportedly a reprisal by a group of bandits following the recent arrest of 12 suspects from the area.

The troops engaged the armed bandits, forcing them to retreat.

During the operation, one bandit was neutralized, and troops recovered an array of items, including an AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines, twelve rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a Motorola handheld radio. The recovered items are now in military custody.
