Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have foiled an attempted kidnap and rescued a victim in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 11:40 p.m. on April 6, 2026, when troops of Sector 7 (Sub-Sector 71) responded to a distress call from Ungwan Nungu village.

On arrival, the troops engaged the suspected kidnappers in a firefight, forcing them to abandon their mission and flee the scene.

The victim, who sustained injuries during the attack, was rescued and evacuated to a medical facility for treatment.

Security operatives said efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects, while patrols have been intensified in the area to prevent further incidents.
