The troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have foiled a coordinated kidnapping attempt by suspected bandits in three communities of Dandume Local Government Area in Katsina State.
The simultaneous attacks, which occurred on Sunday around 12:25 a.m., targeted Ungwar Iidi Village, Albasu Village along Tumburkai Road, and Ungwar Hawan Idi.
Operatives swiftly mobilised to Albasu Village, where the attackers were pursued and forced to flee.
At Ungwar Hawan Idi, a gun duel ensued, leading the assailants to retreat into a nearby forest. One victim, Malam Sale, was rescued with gunshot wounds and taken to the General Hospital in Dandume for treatment.
However, another resident, Malam Auwalu, was declared missing following the chaos.
A search operation is ongoing to locate the missing victim and track down the fleeing suspects.
