Troops intercept 1,500 litres of illegally refined AGO in Rivers

Troops of 146 Battalion (Mechanized) have intercepted a vehicle carrying 58 sacks of illegally refined automotive gas oil (AGO) at Bonny Island in Rivers State.

Security sources said that at about 3:10 p.m., the troops, deployed at the workers’ camp along the Bonny–Bodo road, stopped the vehicle en route to Port Harcourt from Bonny Island. The vehicle was carrying an estimated 1,500 litres of illegally refined AGO.

Three suspects were apprehended at the scene.

The suspects and seized items are currently in the custody of the troops for further investigation and action.
