Troops of Operation Safe Haven have intercepted 38 cattle grazing in a restricted area around Twin Hill in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred on Saturday during routine security operations aimed at enforcing existing regulations and preventing potential conflicts in the area.
According to the sources, troops of Sector 3, Operation Safe Haven, discovered the livestock grazing within a prohibited zone and immediately intervened.
The sources said the 38 cattle were subsequently moved from the restricted area to a safe location for necessary administrative and legal action by the relevant authorities.
The operation, they noted, forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to enforce compliance with regulations governing grazing activities and to prevent disputes that could threaten peace and security in local communities.
Security officials urged livestock owners and herders to comply with extant laws and directives regulating grazing activities, particularly in designated restricted areas.
They added that proactive measures would continue to be implemented to maintain peace and prevent incidents capable of causing tension among residents.
