Troops intercept motorcycles linked to ransom payment in Bauchi, 3 suspect apprehended

Troops of 33 Artillery Brigade have intercepted five motorcycles allegedly meant for ransom payment to secure the release of abducted victims in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

 

Security sources said the interception occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on April 1 during ongoing shaping operations by troops at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Futuk.

 

According to the sources, three suspects were apprehended while transporting the motorcycles.

 

Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcycles were intended to be used as ransom to facilitate the release of kidnapped victims.

 

The sources added that the recovered motorcycles are currently in the custody of the troops for further action, while investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
