Troops of 1 Brigade, deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Sabon-Gari, have intercepted a vehicle suspected of conveying logistics to a terrorist element in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Military sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 6:16 p.m. on Sept. 6, when troops intercepted the vehicle in Kaura Namoda town.

The vehicle was conveying four female passengers, two children and two male passengers.

During a search of the vehicle, one of the suspects reportedly attempted to flee and was neutralised by the troops.

The troops subsequently recovered three bags of suspected cannabis from the vehicle.

According to the military sources, the driver reportedly confessed that the recovered items were intended for delivery to a suspected terrorist at Dayau Village in the same local government area.

The driver and the recovered exhibits are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt terrorist logistics networks and prevent the movement of illicit supplies to armed groups in Zamfara State.
