Troops kill hoodlum during attempted disarmament in Ebonyi

Troops under Operation UDO KA have neutralised a hoodlum during an attempted disarmament of a soldier in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. on May 26 when troops deployed at Ecoli-Edda were on routine patrol.
According to the sources, the troops encountered a group of hoodlums who attempted to attack and disarm a soldier using a dagger.
In the ensuing struggle, one of the suspects was shot and later died while being evacuated for medical attention.
The sources added that the remains of the deceased were deposited at the mortuary of Owutu General Hospital for further action.
Items recovered from the scene included one dagger and a mobile phone.
The troops also reported damage to a rifle butt during the confrontation.
Security operations are ongoing in the area as part of efforts to maintain peace and stability under Operation UDO KA.
