Troops neutralise bandit, recover arms in Plateau raid

Troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a have neutralised a suspected bandit and recovered arms and ammunition during a raid on a bandit hideout in Teng village, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out by troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Shendam at about 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, following credible intelligence.
“Troops made contact with the criminals during the raid and neutralised one bandit. One AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 11 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition were recovered from the scene,” the sources said.
It further noted that the recovered arms and ammunition are in custody for further investigation, while efforts to track and neutralise other members of the banditry syndicate are ongoing.
The troops reportedly expended 17 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during the engagement.
