Troops neutralise terrorists, recover arms in bauchi offensive

Troops of 33 Artillery Brigade, in collaboration with a team from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), have conducted a successful offensive operation against suspected terrorists in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Zagazola report that the operation, carried out at about 10:30 a.m. on April 10, targeted Auta Kachalla Camp and the Kuka general area.
The operation was led by the Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade, Brig Gen SS. Shehu.
Sources said the troops made contact with the terrorists during the operation and engaged them in a firefight, forcing the criminals to flee into surrounding areas.
Items recovered during the operation included one Dane gun, one locally fabricated firearm, five Baofeng radios, a Point of Sale (POS) machine, one mobile phone and a laptop.
The troops also destroyed several motorcycles found at the camp.
