Troops of 1 Division nutrialise 2 bandits, recover weapons, 2 motorcycles

Troops fighting to rid Kaduna State of the activities of criminal elements, have neutralized two armed bandits following a shootout in the hideout at GIDAN DUTSE in Kaduna State.
The feats were recorded on Sunday June 9, when the troops of the division under Operation Desert Sanity II, on clearance operation around Rijana forest and its environs.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that the troops Operation began their clearance operations in Amale, Gudan Jatua, Gidan Danfulani and Gidan DUNA but no contact was made as the villages remained desolate.
The sources said that during the operation, troops came in contact with the terrorists at Gidan Dutse andn engaged the armed bandits with superior fire power, neutralising two of them and forcing others to flee with gunshot wounds into the surrounding forest.
The troops successfully cleared Gidan Dutse and further chased the terrorists toward the Koko Hills but no contact was further made.
The sources said that during the operation, troops seized three AK, two motorcycles, quantity two of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition and two mobile phones.
