Troops pursue local criminal groups after abduction of three children in Plateau

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, are currently trailing suspected local criminals following the abduction of three children in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources said the incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on May 5 in the Guratop area.
According to the source, troops deployed at Lamingo responded to a distress call and immediately mobilised to the scene.
He said the troops tracked the suspected kidnappers along their withdrawal route but did not make contact.
He added that search and rescue efforts were ongoing to ensure the safe recovery of the abducted children.
The source assured residents that security forces had intensified patrols and surveillance in the general area to prevent further criminal activities.
