Troops search for kidnapped victim in Plateau

Troops of Sector 8, Operation Enduring Peace in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, are on the trail of suspected kidnappers following the abduction of a civilian in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A military source said the incident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on May 5 at the outskirts of Kurra, near Jokko High Ground.
According to the source, troops deployed at Gyambwas responded swiftly to a distress call and launched a search and rescue operation in the area.
“Troops conducted a search and rescue operation but made no contact with the kidnappers,” the source said.
He added that efforts were ongoing to track down the suspects and secure the release of the abducted victim.
