Troops receive surrendered suspected terrorist member from CDF in Borno

Troops of 152 Task Force Battalion in Banki, Borno State, have received a suspected terrorist member who surrendered to authorities through the Chadian Defence Forces (CDF).

The individual, a male who claimed to be an indigene of Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State, was handed over to Nigerian troops at about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

According to a security report obtained by Zagazola Makama, the suspected terrorist was handed over by the CM Intelligence Service of Bargaram Division of the CDF.

The development is part of ongoing cross-border security cooperation and intelligence-sharing efforts aimed at facilitating the surrender and processing of individuals associated with terrorist groups operating within the Lake Chad Basin.

The surrendered individual is now in the custody of Nigerian troops for profiling, interrogation and further action in accordance with established procedures.

The development also highlights the importance of continued cooperation among security forces in the Lake Chad Basin in degrading terrorist networks and encouraging members to abandon violent extremist groups.
