Troops Recover 28 Cattle Rustled by Berom Militia in Plateau, Return Them to Owner

Troops of Sector 3 under Operation Enduring Peace have recovered 28 cattle allegedly rustled by suspected Berom militia members in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State and returned them to their owner.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on June 5 around Gero community in Jos South LGA.
The sources said the cattle belonged to one Idris Adamu and were allegedly rustled by suspected Berom militia elements operating in the area.
According to the sources, troops responded swiftly to a distress report and launched a search-and-recovery operation in the surrounding mountainous terrain.
The operation led to the recovery of all 28 cattle after the suspects reportedly abandoned the animals and fled upon sighting the advancing troops.
“The troops immediately initiated a search operation in the surrounding mountains. On sighting the troops, the criminals abandoned the cattle and escaped.
“All 28 recovered cattle were subsequently handed over to their rightful owner,” the sources said.
The sources added that efforts were ongoing to track and apprehend the suspects involved in the rustling.
