Troops Recover AK-47 Rifle in Raid on Suspected Terrorist Enclave in Taraba

Troops of Sector 3, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), in conjunction with a Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) team, have recovered an AK-47 rifle during a raid on a suspected terrorist enclave in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation was conducted at about 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 6 at Dangeza, Karim Lamido LGA, following intelligence on suspected terrorist activities in the area.
According to a military source, the troops raided the suspected enclave but did not make contact with the terrorists during the operation.
The troops, however, recovered one AK-47 rifle, which has been taken into custody for further investigation and appropriate action.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt terrorist activities and recover illegal arms in the area.
