Troops Arrest Eight Suspected Illegal Miners in Taraba

Troops of Sector 3, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), have arrested eight suspected illegal miners in Yorro Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The suspects were apprehended at about 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 6 around the Banga Dutse general areaof Yorro LGA.
According to a military source, the troops recovered mining implements from the suspects, including two shovels, three hoes, three bowls and three knives.
The troops also recovered about 2kg of unrefined monoxide ore, alongside other sundry items.
The eight suspects and the recovered items are currently in custody for further investigation and appropriate action.
