Troops Repel ISWAP Attack On Monguno, Kill 7 Insurgents

The troops of Sector 3 Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have obliterated atleast 7 terrorists and recovered weapons after it repelled an attack launched by the  Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Monguno town, Borno state.

It was gathered that the ISWAP fighters who came in gun trucks and several  motorcycles attempted to infiltrate the town through Charly 6, at about 12:00 a.m. on Sunday but met resistance by by troops.

An Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama, Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in Lake Chad, that the troops who were already at alert engaged the insurgents in a deadly fight, which led to the obliteration of 7 of them. 
He said that the overwhelming fire power of the troops forced the terrorists to scamper and retreated while the gallant  troops chased them toward their escaped route.
He said that Abu Ubaida, a top ISWAP Commander led the failed attack.
