Troops Repel Suspected ISWAP Attack on Hawul Community

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have repelled an attack by suspected ISWAP terrorists on Juhuhi Village in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
The incident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. on August 23, 2026, when the terrorist groups invaded the community and opened sporadic fire.
During the attack, a 33-year-old resident, identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, was hit by a stray bullet in the back.
A combined team of the troops, Police tactical units, the Civilian Joint Task Force and Hunters Group responded to the attack and engaged the assailants.
The troops successfully repelled the attackers, forcing them to withdraw from the area.
The injured victim was evacuated to a hospital for medical attention, while photographs and relevant details were documented as part of the security investigation.
Normalcy has since been restored in the community, while security forces have sustained operations in the area to prevent further attacks.
