Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai have repelled terrorist attacks in Borno, killing 11 insurgents and recovering arms and drugs.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops broke a night infiltration attempt at Mallamfatori with indirect fire, dispersing the terrorists before they could launch coordinated attacks.
The sources added that a separate attack on Damboa led to the death of one Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member.
The sources further said limited operations launched by troops at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday yielded significant success when they made contact with terrorists around Loskori general area.
According to the sources, two soldiers sustained injuries but are in stable condition, while troops neutralised 11 terrorists and recovered two AK-47 rifles and a large cache of drugs.
