Troops rescue 31 kidnapped victims, neutralise two terrorists in North-West

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 31 kidnapped victims and disrupted terrorist activities during separate operations in Katsina and Kebbi States.
In Katsina State, troops rescued 10 kidnapped victims, including an infant, following a sustained operation against terrorists responsible for the abduction of civilians in Funtua Local Government Area.
The operation followed reports of the abduction of residents from communities within the area, prompting troops to pursue the fleeing terrorists and engage them.
In a separate operation in Kebbi State, troops rescued 21 kidnapped victims in Kangiwa Local Government Area and subsequently facilitated their reunion with their families.
The operations also resulted in the neutralisation of two suspected terrorists, including a suspected terrorist kingpin identified as Abbah Alhassan.
Troops further arrested two suspected terrorists linked to criminal networks operating in Katsina State.
Security sources said the operations were conducted through sustained intelligence gathering, rapid response and coordinated ground actions aimed at disrupting terrorist and kidnapping networks across the North-West.
The latest successes are expected to provide relief to affected communities while further degrading the operational activities of criminal groups in the region.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have continued to sustain offensive and intelligence-led operations across the North-West as part of efforts to rescue kidnapped victims, disrupt criminal networks and restore security to affected communities.
