Troops rescue 45-year-old woman from kidnappers in Plateau

Troops of Sector 5, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have rescued a 45-year-old woman shortly after she was kidnapped at Ngorot Village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 2, 2026, when troops responded to a distress report concerning the abduction of Mrs. Ruth Dauda in the community.

According to security sources, the troops swiftly mobilised to the village and established contact with the criminals.

The kidnappers, unable to withstand the troops’ superior firepower, reportedly withdrew towards a high-ground area.

The troops subsequently rescued the victim unharmed, with no casualties recorded.

Mrs. Dauda was reunited with her family following the successful rescue operation.

Efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing criminals, while troops have maintained vigilance in the area to prevent further attacks and abductions.

The operation is part of sustained efforts by Operation ENDURING PEACE to protect civilians and disrupt criminal activities across Plateau State.
