Troops rescue female abductee in Gwoza, Borno

Troops of 82 Division Task Force Battalion have rescued a young female abductee in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the victim was intercepted at about 1:41 a.m. on Sept. 4, 2026, while reportedly on a spying mission from Mountain Village of Saha.

According to the sources, the young woman surrendered to the troops at Armuda in Gwoza LGA.

The rescued victim is currently in the custody of the troops, while efforts are ongoing to reunite her with her family members.

The development is part of sustained military operations aimed at disrupting terrorist activities and rescuing persons held or exploited by terrorist groups in the North-East.
