Troops rescue four kidnapped victims after gunmen attack vehicle in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued four kidnapped victims after engaging terrorists who attacked a vehicle and abducted passengers along the Ruwan Godiya axis of Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 11, following intelligence on the terrorist attack and abduction of passengers before Ruwan Godiya.
Troops of 35 Battalion mobilised to the area and engaged the terrorists, forcing them to abandon the four victims and flee into the surrounding terrain.
The rescued victims were subsequently released to continue with their journey after the intervention by the troops.
The operation highlights the continued efforts by troops to secure major road corridors and prevent terrorists and criminal elements from preying on commuters in Katsina State.
Troops have continued patrols and surveillance along the affected axis to deny the attackers freedom of movement and prevent further attacks.
