Troops rescue four men intercepted during curfew enforcement in Plateau

Troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have safely moved four occupants of a vehicle intercepted during curfew enforcement in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 6:35 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2026, when troops deployed at Gyambwas in Mangu Halle responded to a report of a white Boxer vehicle, with registration number Plateau JJN 990 XA, caught up with curfew enforcement along the Mangu Halle axis.
The troops intercepted the vehicle and identified the occupants as three Fulani men Ahmad Adamu, Belal Umar and Idris Abdul all reportedly from Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The driver, identified as Adamu Abdullahi, was described as a Jukun from Taraba State who resides in Mangu.
The occupants and the vehicle were subjected to a thorough search and interrogation by the troops.
Given the prevailing security situation in Mangu and adjoining communities, the troops subsequently moved the vehicle and its occupants to a safe location while on patrol.
The intervention was aimed at preventing the occupants from being exposed to possible security threats arising from the tense security environment in the area.
