Troops rescue kidnap victim in Plateau, launch manhunt for abductors

Troops of Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a kidnapped victim along the Tsohon–Gero Road in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the victim was rescued at about 11:30 a.m. on July 26 during a security operation along the road linking Tsohon and Gero villages.

According to the sources, preliminary interrogation revealed that the victim had been abducted on July 25 along Rukuba Road before being taken to an unknown location by the kidnappers.

The victim is currently in the custody of security personnel for debriefing, with investigators gathering information that could aid the identification and arrest of members of the kidnapping syndicate.

Security sources said troops have intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators and sustain operations aimed at curbing kidnapping and other violent crimes across Plateau State.
