Troops rescue kidnapped couple in Kaduna after Fulani Bandits abandon victims

Troops of Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have rescued a kidnapped couple after a gun battle with Fulani Bandits in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, when troops deployed at Mayir Garrison location responded to a report of the abduction of Mr Hassan Isah and his wife, Juliana Hassan, at Ateli village.
The troops, working alongside local vigilantes, immediately launched a pursuit of the kidnappers and established contact with the criminals.
During the encounter, the kidnappers abandoned the victims and fled into the surrounding area, allowing the troops to safely rescue the couple.
However, Isah sustained injuries during the incident and was evacuated to the General Hospital, Wamba, for medical attention.
Security forces have commenced efforts to track and apprehend the fleeing kidnappers, while troops continue to dominate the area to prevent further attacks.
