Troops intervene as farmers, herders clash over alleged farm destruction in Kaduna

Troops of Sector 7, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have intervened in a clash between farmers and herders at Mabushi village, Kurmin Dawaki District, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident occurred at about 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, following a report of a confrontation between the two groups over the alleged destruction of farmlands.

Troops deployed to the area promptly intervened and brought the situation under control, preventing further escalation.

Four victims, however, sustained injuries during the clash and were evacuated to the Primary Health Centre in Manchok for medical attention.

During the intervention, troops also recovered abandoned cattle reportedly belonging to Ardo Ambo of Jankasa village in Kaura Local Government Area.

The cattle were moved to a safe location pending efforts to resolve the dispute and restore calm between the parties.

Security forces detained Ardo Ambo and Dakachi of Kurmin Dawaki for questioning as investigations continued into the circumstances surrounding the clash.

Troops have maintained security presence in the area to prevent further violence and support efforts toward peaceful resolution of the dispute.
