Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued three kidnapped victims during a clearance operation in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Security sources disclosed that the operation was carried out at about 11:48 a.m. on May 30 by troops of CSI Battalion III in collaboration with vigilantes and forest rangers.

According to the sources, the joint team conducted a patrol at Kharisin hunting ground when suspected terrorists sighted the advancing troops and fled the scene.

The sources said the suspects abandoned their captives in the process, leading to the successful rescue of three kidnapped victims by the troops.

The rescued victims were immediately taken into custody for medical attention and preliminary investigation.

Security personnel have since intensified patrols and search operations within the general area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further criminal activities.

Authorities said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and ensure the safety of residents in Kebbi State and adjoining border communities.

Residents were urged to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.
