Troops secure community after fulani Bandits killed two locals on sentry duty in Plateau

Troops of Sector 6, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have secured Rim Community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State following the reported killing of two locals on sentry duty by fulani bandits.
The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2026, when troops responded to a report of an attack on the two residents in the community.
According to security sources, the troops came under hostility from some members of the community upon arrival, with residents accusing the security personnel of being responsible for the incident.
The troops were subsequently secured while efforts were initiated by the traditional ruler to engage the youths and dissuade them from making such allegations or escalating the situation.
Security forces are maintaining vigilance in the area as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and prevent further escalation.
