Uromi Killings: Arrested Suspects Transferred to Abuja – Gov. Okpebholo
Edo State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, has announced that 14 suspects arrested in connection with the recent killings in Uromi have been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation.
The governor made this known on Monday during a visit to the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibrin, at his residence in Abuja, where he reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
“This barbaric act is unacceptable, and both the Edo State Government and the Federal Government, under the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are taking swift and decisive action to bring all culprits to book,” he said.
Okpebholo further disclosed that a committee had been set up to provide support to the families of the victims.
He also revealed that he and his team were in talks with the Kano State Governor to address concerns and strengthen peace efforts following the incident.
“Edo State stands for peace, unity, and security. Justice must be served,” he added.
The Edo State Government assured that security agencies would continue their investigation to ensure that all those involved in the attack are apprehended and prosecuted.
