The Commander of the Vigilante Justice Network in Sokoto State, Basharu Altine Guyawa, has called for a comprehensive military operation to eliminate all remaining bandits hiding in the eastern axis of Isa and Sabon Birni Local Government Areas.

In a statement issued in Isa on Saturday, Guyawa said his team has been closely monitoring the activities of criminal gangs as well as the efforts of security forces to flush them out, both day and night, across volatile forested areas.

According to him, the ongoing military offensives have recorded significant successes, particularly in the forests of Gundumi, stretching toward Kuyan-Bana and Gwauro Hills. He confirmed that known kingpins such as Kachalla Chomo and Kachalla Haru are under pressure as troops dismantle their hideouts.

He urged the security agencies not to stop at Gundumi and Sububu forests but to advance toward the Maberaya forest and FAKAI axis in order to fully dominate the eastern border corridor.

“This eastern axis, from Manawa and Gwandi to Tsaika, must be cleared and secured. From there, troops should link up with Lake Fili near the Niger border,” Guyawa said.

He also advised that the offensive should extend through Gatawa to Zango, and link up with Burkusuma up to the Niger Republic border.

“If this is done thoroughly, not even bandit warlords like Bello Turji or any other criminal will find a safe haven in Eastern Isa and Sabon Birni,” he declared.

Guyawa said the suggestions were being presented to the relevant authorities not for criticism, but in the spirit of national security improvement.
