Youth Clash Turns Deadly in Gombe, One Confirmed Dead as Police Declare Five Suspects Wanted

The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed the death of a young man following a violent clash between youths of Dakkiti village and neighbouring communities in Akko Local Government Area of the state.
Sources disclosed that the incident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. on June 8 by one Alhaji Yaya Jauro Hamidu of Dakkiti village.
According to the sources, the violence occurred on June 6 at about 11:50 p.m. during a social gathering when youths from Dakkiti and surrounding villages engaged in a confrontation involving machetes and sticks.
During the clash, one Abdullahi Jauro Yaya, 20, sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe for medical attention.
He was later confirmed dead on June 8 while receiving treatment.
Crime scene detectives visited the hospital, where the body was photographed and subsequently deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
Preliminary investigations by the police identified several suspects allegedly involved in the incident. They include Ahmadu Mallam Yauta, Shehu Alhaji Kadiri, Hassan Alhaji, Shafiu Alhaji Manu, and Buba Alhaji Magaji, all of Wuro Hammadija village in Akko LGA.
The suspects are currently at large.
Police authorities said efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects, while investigation into the circumstances surrounding the clash has commenced.
The Command assured residents of its commitment to ensuring justice and preventing further breakdown of law and order in the affected communities.
