The meeting, held on Monday and convened by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, brought together heads of security agencies and senior government officials to review the state’s current security architecture and propose new approaches.
Zagazola Makama reports that the Deputy Governor, Malam Mani Malam Mummuni, also joined the session, underscoring the administration’s high-level commitment to addressing insecurity.
According to a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the SSG, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, the stakeholders reviewed ongoing operations and adopted 10 strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing the fight against banditry.
“The meeting was aimed at fostering stronger synergy between the state government, security institutions and federal agencies to scale up ongoing operations and restore peace in Zamfara,” the statement read.
While addressing participants, the SSG commended the courage and commitment of security personnel in the state.
“The state government acknowledges the immense sacrifices of our gallant personnel. On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, I commend your selfless efforts and unwavering dedication,” Nakwada stated.
He stressed the need for sustained collaboration and innovation in combating security threats, noting that evolving challenges require adaptive and collective responses.
“To effectively tackle our complex security challenges, we must continue to adapt, innovate, and work together more seamlessly than ever before,” he added.
The SSG also condemned recent attacks in some communities and expressed the government’s condolences to affected families.
“On behalf of the Zamfara State Government, I extend heartfelt condolences to those who lost loved ones and sympathize with those who suffered losses. We will not relent until Zamfara is safe again,” Nakwada assured.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Governor called for intensified operations and stronger inter-agency cooperation.
“We deeply appreciate your efforts, but we must do more. Let us secure every inch of our dear state,” Mummuni said.
