32-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Well in Masaka, Nasarawa

 Police in Nasarawa State have commenced investigation into the death of a 32-year-old man, Genesis Philip, whose body was found inside a well at Up Market, Masaka, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The incident was reported to the police on Aug. 19 by the deceased’s younger brother, Isaac Philip.

The deceased had on Aug. 17 at about 10 p.m. told his wife, Mrs Ochanya Philip, that he wanted to defecate at the back of their house.

After waiting for about 10 minutes without seeing him return, his wife alerted his younger brother, and both commenced a search for him.

The search continued until the morning of Aug. 18, when the deceased was found drowned inside a well.

Police said a note was recovered from the deceased, stating that he had ₦50,000 in his GTBank account and directing that the money should be given to his sister.

The motive behind the incident has not been established.

The body was evacuated to Mararaba Medical Centre, where a doctor on duty examined and confirmed him dead.

The police said investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding his death and determine whether the incident was a case of suicide or involved other factors.
