Armed bandit arrested following gun battle in Zamfara

An armed bandit has been arrested by security forces after a gun battle on the Tsafe–Yanwaren Daji feeder road in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Sources Zagazola that the incident occurred at about 4:55 p.m. on Dec. 21, when a group of armed bandits blocked the road, disrupting traffic along the axis.
According to the source, a security team on patrol along the route engaged the bandits in a serious exchange of gunfire, forcing them to retreat with multiple gunshot injuries.
“One of the bandits, identified as Umar Alhaji Buhari, also known as Bingel, was arrested during the encounter,” the source said.
The source added that the road was subsequently cleared for the free flow of motorists and other road users.
The arrested bandit has been handed over to police SCID Gusau for investigation.
