CJTF Member Arrested for Killing Two, Injuring One in Monguno

 A Member of the Civilian Joint Task Force(CJTF) Modu Mallam Gana, a 27-year-old in Monguno, has been arrested for allegedly shooting at a group of youths, resulting in the death of two and serious injury to another.

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on March 21, 2025, at about 6:15 a.m., when a group of youths were standing in front of the CJTF office in Bakin Kasuwa Area, Monguno LGA.

 

The sources said that the suspect, Modu Mallam Gana, became provoked by their presence and opened fire on them.

 

The victims comprising, Ya’zainab Bum and Goni Mohammed Ahmadu died instantly while Hamsatu Ali was seriously injured and admitted o General Hospital Monguno. 

 

However, Ya’zainab Bum and Goni Mohammed Ahmadu were confirmed dead, and their corpses were released to their families for burial in accordance with Islamic rites. Hamsatu Ali remains hospitalized.

 

The sources said that the  suspect was immediately arrested, and handed over to the police.
