Troops neutralized ISWAP Fighter in Borno ambush

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralized one ISWAP fighter during an ambush operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to sources on June 15, troops of 222 Battalion conducted an ambush operation at Yaleri Kurma Village at about 12:15 a.m., following intelligence on suspected terrorist movement along a known crossing point.
The operation resulted in the neutralisation of one ISWAP fighter after troops made contact with the insurgents.
Items recovered from the scene included two nylon bags of flour, 12 packs of 500g salt, and 10 pieces of spaghetti, believed to be logistical supplies intended for terrorist elements operating in the area.
The sources confirmed that no casualties were recorded on the side of own troops, while the ambush team subsequently changed position and continued with their operational task.
It further stated that the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, with troops maintaining high alertness and sustained operational pressure on terrorist elements.
